Great set of plans, very well put together. Glad I bought them!
ReplyDeletehey purchase link for both plans not working
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know Kevin! I just fixed it, there was a problem in the html code. Let me know if you have any more issues.
DeleteThis is an amazing looking table and system. Anything available in Sketchup?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I did the drawings in Sketchup but the plans are just available in PDF format.
DeleteDo the plans include instructions for building out the 20mm hole pattern on the top in an accurate way?
ReplyDeleteYes the plans and instructions provide all the details you need to accurately make the 20mm holes in the top Robert. It includes how to make and use a special jig that gives a very precise layout. When I make cross cuts using the Parf dogs and my track saw the cuts are exactly square which is the real test of the hole layout.
DeleteHi I also live in Canada and can we buy the legs and other parts needed for this table in Canada at a fair price. I like the idea have made the pualk bench and like it also but its big. This system you have put together looks very interesting.
ReplyDeleteWhat will the parts alone be to make this table.
The legs are easily sourced in Canada John and are reasonable in price. The plans have a source list for all the parts and where you can buy them. The parts and materials cost roughly $190 to buy depending on where you buy and how many materials you already have in your shop.
DeleteApproximately how much do the parts cost for the MPT?
ReplyDeleteThe parts and materials cost roughly $190 to buy depending on where you buy and how many materials you already have in your shop.
DeleteThanks for the reply, Dan! Where do the legs come from? Online?
DeleteI bought the aluminum from Home Depot but it should be available at most metal suppliers too. They just start as plain aluminum tubes and all the hardware gets added and drilled for. All of those details are in the plans and instructions.
DeleteI have limited tools available. Do you have a recommended necessary tool list to complete the MPT?
ReplyDeleteHi Fred. I'll list out the major tools that I used to build the MPT. You could certainly be creative and get away without some of them but here is what I used.
DeleteTrack saw, table saw, drill press, miter saw, cordless drill, miter saw, plunge router, pocket hole jig, biscuit joiner and jigsaw. Other tools would include basic marking and measuring tools. Like I said you could be creative and get away without some of those tools. For example you could use a drill and dowels instead of a biscuit joiner or you could make drill guides and use a cordless drill rather than a drill press. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
